| Before you proceed with the setup, make sure
you have the original versions of the Windows
installation CD-ROMs with you.
- On the taskbar, click on
Start > Settings > Control Panel
- The Control Panel
window opens. Double click on the Network
icon.
- The Select Network
Adapters window opens. Click on the Add...
button.
- Highlight the Adapter item and click
on the Add... button.
- The Select Network Adapters window
opens with a listing of Manufacturers on the
left, and Network Adapters on the right.
- From the Manufacturers list, click on Microsoft
after which, select Dial-Up Adapter in
the Network Adapters list.
- Click on the OK button.
- You will be brought back to the Network Properties
window, the window should have an additional
item - Dial Up Adapter. This is the item
that you have just added.
- In the same window, click on the Add
button.
- Highlight the Protocol item and click
on the Add button.
- The Select Network Protocol window
opens with a listing of Manufacturers on the
left and Network Protocols on the right.
- From the Manufacturers list, click on Microsoft
after which, select TCP/IP in the Network
Protocols list.
- Click on the OK button.
- You will be brought back to the Network Properties
window, the window should have an additional
item - TCP/IP. This is the item that
you have just added.
- You have successfully installed the Network
Components for Windows 95/98.
